Web Site Costs
How
much does it cost?? This is THE question! The one you want answered
the quickest and the one that web companies answer the slowest! Although we will
give you some important guidelines to go by below, this is a tough question to
answer directly! The reason is really pretty obvious. There are a LOT of variables
involved. How many pages? How many photos need to be scanned? What kind of
graphics? Do you need to be able to update your pages yourself easily via a password
protected administration area? Will your site have E-Commerce and/or utilize databases
etc..? Are your materials already organized or do they need to be put together
for you? Do you already have logos & artwork or do they need to be created?
Will you want mailing lists, chatboards and the like? Will you want bells and
whistles? Animated graphics? Animated buttons and other goodies that will require
Java, Javascript, Animated Gifs, etc... etc..
Beware of the company with the 'one
price fits all' mentality! Either they are inexperienced or they are padding their
costs and you will be overpaying. You would never buy an off the rack, one price
fits all advertising campaign! Don't do it with your web site. After all, it's
the "advertising campaign" of the new millennium.

here are some important guidelines on website pricing.
The 3 Costs Associated
With Getting On The Web
There are 3 main costs associated
with building a website:
1. One Time Fees
These are the initial fees to build and promote your website. They include
the actual programming of your website, creating the pages, the links,
scanning and or creating the graphics. They also include small fees
like the hosting server's setup fees, reporting your site to "search
engines", and any other miscellaneous costs to create your initial
website. As we discussed above, this amount can vary greatly. 5,000.00?
50,000.00? 500,000.00+? Well truthfully, there are websites for
each of these amounts. The most important thing you should look for
is a company that will work with you honestly and straight forward,
and be understanding of your budget. Make sure you get a firm cost for
all work to be done and never have an open-ended hourly fee where you
have no idea what your total bill will be.
2. Hosting
Once your website is built,
you'll need to make it available to the public. You do this by renting computer
space with a company that is connected to the Internet with a very fast connection
(ISDN-T1-T3-DS3). This is called "Hosting". Also, along with hosting
your website, most companies will also host your E-mail as well, allowing you
to make up your own E-mail addresses like info@yourcompany.com or sales@yourcompany.com,
etc., etc. These fees can vary quite a bit. The problem is most of the time you
are mixing "apples and oranges". You may see one company offering hosting
for $35 per month and another charging $350 per month!! How could that be?? First
of all, they are probably not offering the same service. They may appear to be,
but after careful examination, you'll see all kinds of differences. And, don't
be surprised if you find a company with very moderate prices beating the daylights
out of the companies charging very high prices. National providers like AT&T
can charge you hundreds of dollars more for the same services, just because they
consider themselves "full service" and that roughly translates to, "still
haven't recouped all their development costs yet". Unfortunately many networks
do not allow adult content on their computers so hosting for the adult industry
is a little trickier then for the "vanilla" world.
3. Your "Domain"
name
You'll need a "Domain" name like www.yourcompany.com. You receive
this name by contacting the InterNIC (also
known as "Network Solutions"), a private company hired by the Internet
"powers that be" to administrate "Domain Names". Unfortunately,
unless you happen to have 2 of your own DNS IP addresses, you will need a company
that does, to order your name for you. Companies charge anywhere from hundreds
of dollars down to "nothing" to provide this service. However, you will
need to pay an initial fee of $70 to the InterNIC for the first 2 years, and then
$35 per year thereafter.
If you utilize CREATIVE ADULT
to design your website we will handle all of this work for you at NO CHARGE. You
will only need to pay the InterNIC's fee. Call us today for a free proposal at
